Half Dome

It has been a long time since I have updated my blog. The past week has been so busy. I spent last weekend in San Jose with my aunt and Grandma Pat. Then Wednesday and Thursday I hung out with my friend Bryson. Finished it all off with a midnight hike up to the top of Half Dome Mountain in Yosemite to watch the sun rise.

OK this hike was quite the challenge about 10 of us decide it was a brilliant idea to hike up the mountain at 11 pm Saturday to watch the sunrise. It was awesome. All of us sleep deprived
scoundrels made the 8.4 mile over 4,800 foot elevation gain to reach the top of this great beast. We finally made it
to the top around 4:30 am
and were able to see this breath taking view as we freeze our asses off at the top. The coolest part of the trail was climbing up the cables to get to the top in the dark. Then we spent about an hour or so hanging out at the top and finally made our descent.

The best part about the whole experience was how accomplishing
it felt to have made it all the way up. On the way down we passed so many people heading up to half dome and couldn't believe we had made it to the top, let alone left at night and didn't sleep to be able to see the sunrise. Once we got to the bottom of the trail we see all the families and old people and they were dying just getting to vernal falls which is only about a mile and a half or so up the trail. Yep we certainly kicked ass.
